Catherina Oxford Pope
I am a parent of four boys, the third of whom, joined Coleridge School this academic year. My family and I have just spent 8 years in the U.S. where our sons attended a Steiner Waldorf school kindergarten through high school, and my eldest has just started university in California.
I completed a BA in Modern Languages, an M.Sc. in Health Education and Health Promotion, then trained as a modern languages teacher. In 1993 I taught French at a secondary school in Thetford, before joining the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in their medical and welfare department to work in health promotion and health education. As my children were growing up, I volunteered at their school, particularly in writing press releases and working with the local media. I have also completed a Foundation Course for Waldorf teacher training.
I am enjoying being back in the UK and appreciating the historical and cultural aspects of this country after our time away, as well as seeing friends and family again. And I’ve taken up singing in a choir! Music has always been an important part of our family life.
I look forward to doing what I can to help and assist the running of the Parkside Federation to the benefit of the pupils who spend a great part of their childhood there, their families who put their trust in the Federation, and the teachers who work so hard to make it all happen.
